COPV Safety Course, 2024
We are excited to announce the dates of the upcoming COPV course offered by the International Associated for the Advancement of Space Safety (IAASS). The course is offered by Michael Kezirian, a former NASA Safety engineer and current President of Century Fathom. Mike Shubert, QustomApps founder, will be lecturing on the FEA simulation of COPVs using the WoundSim software.
This course introduces the basic principles governing the design and operation of Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessels (COPVs). The comprehensive overview of current technological understanding will provide both engineering mechanics fundamentals and practical applications. While the course will consider the broad array of standards in the aerospace and automotive sectors, the course focuses on the implementation of a number of aerospace industry consensus standards and describes how WoundSim can be used to meet these standards.
