We are proud to announce the first release of QustomPCB, the new standard in modelling PCBs within the Abaqus/CAE platform. The tool automates the reading of circuit board layout files and the building of the board, cutouts and components on the top and bottom of the board. Additionally, QustomPCB contains advanced tools to generate leads and solder balls onto components for very detailed circuit board analyses. Features include:

• Many meshing options of the board. Automated partitioning allows for brick model of board and most components, solder balls, and leads. Options to partition around components with solder balls or leads allow mesh densities to quickly change, thus reducing the size of the model while modeling the finely meshed components of interest.
• Filtering of components based on volume size can be used to reduce model size when necessary
• A large library of different solder balls shapes is available, including a user-defined solder ball the integrated with components and the board (top or bottom).
• A Gull Wing lead, along with a user-defined lead, provides enough flexibility to generate any sequence of leads onto a component while QustomPCB automatically partitions the component in order for hex meshes to be possible.
• Cutouts and holes read from the layout files can be filtered based on size.
